Alan Webb BSc FCA

Alan is the longest standing Director having been with the firm since 1980. Prior to joining Shepherd Partnership he trained and worked in London, then came up to Yorkshire to take up a partnership.

Alan currently works at Shepherd Partnership 3 days a week looking after a portfolio of non-corporate clients and the mainly older farming client base. Alan is also the font of all knowledge on VAT, Capital Gains and Inheritance Tax issues.

A typical day in the office for Alan is spent reviewing and finalising accounts, supporting other staff members with technical matters, and looking after the firms internal IT.

In his spare time Alan enjoys nothing more than a hard day walking in the mountains followed by several pints of quality real ale. And if he could swop places with anyone for a day? ‘It would be Chris Bonnington when he was younger’.

Adam Dutton FCCA FMAAT

Adam joined the practice in 1993 as audit manager, qualifying in 1996 and becoming a partner in 2000. Today he manages the whole corporate portfolio of the practice.

Most of Adam’s time in the office is spent reviewing files and accounts so that when he meets business owners he can discuss and offer advice on the issues that are directly relevant to them.

So what does Adam enjoy most about working at Shepherd Partnership? ‘Meeting and working with my diverse client base. I get great job satisfaction from helping them make the right decisions for their own future prosperity’.

In his spare time Adam is a keen skier, golfer and runner. He has enjoyed taking part in a number local events and he has competed in the Great North Run for the last 4 years. If he could swop places with anyone for a day it would be Jenson Button driving in the rain or Jonny Wilkinson kicking the winning drop goal.

Andrew McManus BSc ACA

Andy has been with Shepherd Partnership for 25 years. His main role involves dealing with around 90 clients - mainly farmers and general traders – looking after their accounts & income tax returns.

On a typical day in the office Andy is busy reviewing jobs, seeing his clients, and getting jobs signed-off and out of the door.
Andy has enjoyed the years he has spent working with the firm, and today job satisfaction comes from a big variety of work here, and having lots of nice people as clients.

In his spare time Andy enjoys walking and home life, and he considers one of his biggest achievements to date to be ‘having a lovely wife’. His ideal day off involves a long walk in the Yorkshire countryside.
