Andrew, who now works part-time, has been involved in many of Shepherd Partnership’s developments through the years. His role involves reviewing accounts and offering advice for many of our individual, sole trader, partnership and farming clients.
Tell us a bit about your career...
I qualified back in 1983 with a big firm in Bradford (who are now part of KPMG) and joined Shepherd Partnership in 1986; becoming partner in 1987. I went on to become Director in 2006 when the practice incorporated in its present structure.
What's been the highlight of your career?
I’ve worked with many great clients over the years, who have grown older with me (and it’s been a pleasure)!
And what's been the biggest change?
Digitisation! My advice is to make the best use technology for the essential things, both in the office and at home, but then enjoy life without it!
How do you spend your spare time?
Much of my spare time is spent with my wife at our static caravan at Pateley Bridge where we love walking in the local area. My home town of Otley also has some beautiful countryside to walk. I also enjoy reading.
