HMRC are reducing paper communications

You might notice that fewer letters drop on your doormat from HMRC going forward.
There are plans to reduce the number of letters HMRC sends to taxpayers by as much as 75%. Their reasoning is to save money.
Alternative communication methods like telephone and online access are remaining.
Our experience has shown you need a little patience to get hold of HMRC on the telephone…. Most correspondence will be moved to online tax accounts. This change does give us concerns that some people, especially those with limited internet access or digital literacy, may miss important updates and it could confuse taxpayers.
