HMRC has issued a warning about Self Assessment scams

HMRC has recently issued a warning to taxpayers to remain alert as almost 800,000 tax-related scams were reported over the last year.

It is that time of the year when taxpayers expect to hear from HMRC as the tax return filing deadline approaches and tax liabilities fall due.

Please do not be taken in by malicious emails, phone calls or texts, thinking that these are genuine communications from HMRC.
