Employers are being reminded that they need permits to comply with the law when employing 13 to 16 year olds.
Children aged between 13 and 16, while they are still of compulsory school age, can legally work but only certain types of work and certain hours of work are allowed and employers must obtain a work permit for school age employees.
Permits are free and can be applied for here: https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/licence-child-employment
