New bank details needed for claimants with Post Office card accounts
From 1 December HMRC were due to stop making benefit payments into Post Office card accounts. As 13,000 claimants were still to provide alternative bank details a one-off extension has been arranged with the Post Office until 5 April 2022.
The benefits affected include tax credits, Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance.
Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance claimants can use their Personal Tax Account to provide revised account details, change their bank account details via GOV.UK or by contacting the Child Benefit helpline on 0300 200 3100. Those claiming tax credits can change their bank details by contacting the tax credits helpline on 0345 300 3900.
