HMRC will no longer automatically issue paper tax returns

HMRC have recently issued a notice saying that paper tax returns will no longer be automatically issued as they are encouraging online filing.

Instead of issuing a paper return HMRC will write to taxpayers to give guidance how to file online. The paper form will no longer be available to download on GOV.UK, so taxpayers will need to request a 2022/23 Self Assessment Tax Return by calling HMRC on 0300 2003 610 from 06 April 2023.
