HMRC are sending ‘One to Many’ letters about potentially incorrect CIS tax deductions
We understand that HMRC have commenced yet another ‘One to Many’ campaign focusing on Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) contractors. The letter is intended to encourage them to ensure CIS tax deductions are correct. Contractors are being prompted to verify the CIS tax status of subcontractors to make sure the correct amount of CIS tax is deducted.
The letters are being sent out over the next few weeks. It is important to note that if the contractor takes no action, a compliance check may be undertaken.
