Self Assessment deadline – Time to Pay arrangements
HMRC report that since 6 April 2022, almost 21,600 Self Assessment taxpayers who were unable to pay their tax bill in full, have set up a payment plan to spread the cost into manageable monthly instalments.
Taxpayers can contact HMRC if they are unable to pay their Self Assessment tax to discuss Time to Pay arrangements.
The deadline to submit tax returns for the 2021 to 2022 tax year and pay any tax owed is 31 January 2023. It is always wise to get your return submitted as early as possible (rather than waiting until the last minute) so that you know what you owe and can budget to make payments on time. But please remember that support is available if you are unable to pay your tax bill in full with the Time to Pay arrangements.
